The audiologists at Children's Hospital can test any age child from birth to eighteen years of age. We accept referrals from school systems, physician's offices, parents, speech pathologists, or anyone concerned about your child's hearing. We accept all types of insurance including Medicaid of Alabama. You must have your insurance card and co-pay at the time of service. ***If your child is a Medicaid recipient WE MUST HAVE A REFERRAL FROM YOUR PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN PRIOR TO SCHEDULING THE APPOINTMENT.
We provide services in various clinics including Ear, Nose and Throat, UAB Cleft Lip, Palate and Craniofacial Center, New Face Foundation Cleft Lip and Palate, Craniofacial and Down Syndrome. We also regularly follow high risk populations and provide newborn hearing screening to infants in the NICU and SCU. We work with many disciplines including Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Neurology, Speech Pathology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Hematology / Oncology, Pulmonary, Psychiatry, Pediatrics and any physician needing audiological evaluations for their patients. Our Children's South location provides audiological services for seven ENT clinics a week as well as for private and medicaid outpatients.
